The Montessori Environment for Infants
(12 weeks - 18 months)

Our Infant classroom imparts the Montessori method and philosophy, respecting the absorbent nature of the infant child's mind and guiding each child toward greater independence. The environment is carefully prepared by Montessori Teachers each day to provide a safe and welcoming space for infants to explore the world around them. This age range is a profound stage of development in which a child begins to discover who they are and how they interact with their surroundings. Children in a Montessori environment are also provided the opportunity to develop social relationships with others their age and learn to do new things through peer observation.

Our priority is giving the best experience we can to each child who enters our school. We strongly believe that our staff’s efforts should be focused on their Montessori classroom and students during the school day. Because of this the Infant classroom follows the school year calendar. Classes start at the end of August and continue until the end of May each year. The school day starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm with an early release on Fridays at 12:45pm.
