Application Process

  • A tour allows a family to gain valuable insight into Elizabeth Academy and how we can meet the student’s needs. You can arrange a tour with Elizabeth Academy below.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to see our inclusive Montessori classrooms and enrichment programs in action. We will also answer any questions you may have about our programs and admissions process.

  • For enrollment consideration at Elizabeth Academy, complete and submit an application. Your application will only be considered for the school year that you are applying for. A new application will need to be submitted for subsequent school years if you are placed in the wait pool.

The review process during Enrollment Season(January-May) may take 2-4 weeks.

  • Getting to Know You ~ Hoping to Enroll You!

For new students, during the Open Enrollment Window (between mid-January and mid-February), parents and students will be scheduled for a short interview with an administrator to ensure that they are clear on the values of the school and expectations of each community member- school/staff, parent and student- at Elizabeth Academy. It is a time for us to get to know you and your family better and for you to get to know us, asking any questions you might have about our programs, coming to a mutual understanding and agreement about expectations.

After this brief meeting, the student will have a placement screening, intended for us to get to know your child better and make an informal assessment of your child’s level and needs so that we may place him/her in the optimal classroom environment. These screenings are part of our process for all students to ensure growth and success. They are done every year during our continuing period for current students, and during open enrollment for new applicants.

The placement screening is $50 (payable by cash or check).

  • Developmental Screenings~ if necessary ~

If, during the initial placement screening process, we find that an additional screening will be necessary to fully evaluate your child’s need, a developmental screening will be coordinated (either scheduled at the same time of our family meeting and placement screening, or soon after the initial screening if a need appears).

The developmental testing measures a broad spectrum of possible needs (Speech and Language, Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Social/Emotional, Dyslexia/Reading, or other Academic support) and is administered by qualified experts in these areas. There is an additional fee for developmental testing.

  • Children are enrolled at Elizabeth Academy based on the following criteria: age, readiness, previous records, program demands, needs of the child, behavior within the classroom and school, and the commitment of the parent/guardian to Elizabeth Academy policies and procedures and to supporting your child’s academic and social needs as a collaborative partner. Our Admissions Director will contact you via email with an enrollment decision.

Enrollment Placement - If you receive an enrollment placement, you will have 10 days to accept by filling out all enrollment paperwork online via FACTS. As we often have wait pools for our programs, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible if you will be declining the placement.

Wait Pool- If we are unable to offer a placement, your student will be placed in our wait pool.
